I am Abel’s wife Rina, and I am in charge to tell you what happen with Abel in the last 30 years.
After he graduated, he was assigned to Peru. At the beginning, he worked in the branch where we met because I had my meetings with my family in that Kingdom Hall and the time I had been serving for 5 years as a regular pioneer.
Later he was assigned as a Circuit Overseer. After 2 years, we get married and were assigned to another Circuit in the North of Peru. We enjoyed the changes in our lives. We traveled from one congregation to another by car, by bus, by horse, by donkey and sometimes walking. It was different from the life we had before in the capital of Peru, Lima. It was a challenge, but now all those experiences are in our memories, and we remembered it with happiness even when it wasn’t easy at the time.
Two years later, Abel decided to come back to the USA because my health wasn’t good. We came to the USA as regular pioneers, Abel was invited to serve as a substitute circuit overseer, but later he couldn’t continue as a regular pioneer, but I could and I did.
We had three special blessings from Jehovah; on December 1992 our first son was born (Eleazar Manuel), on January 1998 we had our first daughter (Eliana Violeta), and on March 1999 our second daughter came to our lives (Evelyn Marie).
Through the years, we had been very active serving Jehovah. Abel has been serving as an elder for 30 years, and today he is the Coordinator in our congregation. I am still a regular pioneer, along with our son Eleazar (17). He has been baptized for 4 years and last summer, he attended the Pioneer Service School. He is in his final year in school and will graduate in June 2010. Our daughters Eliana (12) and Evelyn (11) have been baptized for a year and 5 months, and they want to be regular pioneers in the future (we are working on it).
It was our pleasure telling you and all the friends about our lives. Abel has been a very good husband and father, a very good provider and a very balance person. We have been married for almost 28 years (June 14th, 2010), and we want to serve Jehovah forever, because this is most beautiful thing that could happen to anybody and as the Watchtower study for this weekend say: That is the best way of life!
