What a privilege to have served in the beautiful country of Chile! Like a couple of others, our time in missionary service was relatively short due to several unforeseen occurrences. We moved back to the Seattle area and shortly thereafter, I found myself back with my family but still serving Jehovah. During this time, my father suddenly died leaving not only the hurt from having lost my pioneer partner and best friend, but losing my closest parent, who had set such a fine example of unselfish service to Jehovah. This led to my decision to return to Mississippi, where I had regular and special pioneered and my closest spiritual family was. At the end of 1984, I married a brother from there and in 1986 had a son. After a number of years, my spouse chose to no longer be faithful to Jehovah and His organization and in 2003 found someone who shared his goals and beliefs and eventually remarried. In 2009, my son and I moved back to the Seattle area to be closer to family. Experience has taught me that Jehovah is truly our best friend and is always there for us. The desire to return to full-time service has never been far from my mind and heart. What a thrill to see 2nd and 3rd generations of Bible students Norman and I had make their dedication and be faithfully serving Jehovah. How thankful I am for the worldwide brotherhood and the encouragement and love of so many wonderful friends made through the years! |
